An easter to remember!

Last week my collegue Mikael asked me what plans we had for the Easter holiday. I told him that we would spend it here in Ulricehamn and he invited us to celebrate Easter with his family. The last few years we have not really celebrated Easter in my family but when I lived in Lund (Sweden) we used to spend it with the extended familiy. I thought it was really nice to invite an unknown family( well, he only knew me a little bit) to celebrate Easter and on Saturday afternoon we headed for Kinnared. Kinnared is a village with 25 houses situated 9 km outside Ulricehamn. Mikael goes by bicycle everyday to work and concidering the weater conditions and the hills in this area that is quite an accomplishment. It is also very dangerous as he noticed a few months ago when he in the early morning hours hit a falling tree and needed 10 stichtes just above his eye.

Anyway, Mikael told us that they lived in the green house but when we arrived there were three green houses in little Kinnared (how can one forget that when there are only 25 houses in total!:)). Luckely they saw us coming and showed us the way. Mikael, his wife Lousie and their three kids gave us a warm welcome and served great hungarian food (Mikaels dad is Hungarian) and then we all went outside to test the hills and a number of different sleds. The kids had a ball and actually the adults as well. As it got darker it was time for the big bondfire and I stood there watching the kids play in the snow, around the fire with a star filled sky above us and it felt really really good. Our new life in Ulricehamn has just started and it looks very promising. Mikael and his family made this an Easter to remember!
